Pop star Davido began a challenge on social media on November 16, asking his friends to send him N1 million as proof of their loyalty. While many found the request pleasurable others did not think so. Among those who criticized Davido for the act are three celebrities I will mention below:

1. Uche Maduagwu

Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu is known for his controversial statements on social media more than his acting prowess.

Reacting to Davido's request, Uche Maduagwu claimed the 'Champion Sound' singer is broke and only used a stylish way to ask for money from his fans and friends. The controversial actor attributed Davido's alleged current financial downturn to his refusal to marry his third baby mama, Chioma Rowland, after assuring that he would marry her.

Uche Maduagwu also picked on that one thing many people use in attacking Davido — the fact that he has a rich father.

"Walahi OBO don finally broke...Baba dey use style beg money on IG, Chioma head don catch u since your papa don stop AWOOF giveaway after u no marry her," he wrote.

2. Cynthia Morgan (now known as Madrina)

If Uche Maduagwu's criticism was strongly worded, then you should have another look at Cynthia Morgan's.

The dancehall singer went all out on Davido, making reference to the statement “we rise by lifting others” which Davido used in requesting for money from his friends.

"If you really rose by lifting others and you’re asking for 1 metre publicly then your boys are ungrateful… Poor things," she wrote.

She further wrote: “Because say all of us they do music no mean say all of us na mate.”

When Davido's fans began attacking her online, Cynthia Morgan described them as "ignorant and unintelligent since 2016."

3. Eucharia Anunobi

Nollywood actress Eucharia Anunobi, who is now an evangelist, also criticized Davido.

Eucharia said that putting out your account details on social media to solicit for funds is ungodly "when you're not doing anything that will benefit humanity."

The actress cited 1 Timothy 6:10 as her reference, little did she know Davido would donate the money and more to charity after all.
