In the past months, the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Eastern Security Network(ESN), and Yoruba nation have been questionable especially that of the IPOB in the southeast. The Activities of this group have threatened the stabilization of the regions they are in. Furthermore, the economic sector of these regions is greatly affected because for example the IPOB has on several occasions ordered the residents of the southeast to boycott all commercial activities. The group has threatened the everyday activities of an average Igbo man living in the southeast.
There is a need for the Buhari Government to eliminate these groups because they have threatened to disrupt the coming 2023 presidential election. Also, the members of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) have even threatened to disrupt the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra state. The president must find a way to either peacefully or not, eliminate these groups before the 2023 Presidential election. Recall that these secessionist groups are unconstitutional and since Bandits have been labeled terrorists, they are criminals that should be apprehended and prosecuted accordingly. The IPOB members have also been proscribed by the federal government and the need to put a stop to their violent activities is imminent.
The president also has to eliminate the existence of these groups to create a conducive environment for the Nigerian people to vote. If they are not all quashed before then, there is a strong possibility that most Nigerians will not come out and exercise their voting rights out of fear of getting attacked by any of the listed groups in their various regions. These groups may incite controversies in their regions and that might just be the beginning of what is to come. The established militia arms and their violent activities should be eliminated before the 2023 presidential election.
