A pilot with the Nigerian Airforce, Flight Lieutenant Abayomi Dairo, has been protected after serious gunfire by equipped criminals grounded a Nigerian Airforce Alpha Jet airplane in Zamfara State.
The Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore, Edward Gabkwet, who affirmed the accident in a proclamation on Monday, said Dairo was getting back from a fruitful air ban mission between the limits of Zamfara and Kaduna states when the airplane went under assault and smashed.
He expressed that Dairo got away from when he catapulted from the airplane before it slammed, adding that when he handled, the outfitted scoundrels gave him a hot pursue.
Gabkwet said, "On July 18, 2021, around 12.45 pm, a Nigerian Air Force Alpha Jet airplane, getting back from an effective air ban mission between the limits of Zamfara and Kaduna states, went under extreme adversary fire which prompted its accident in Zamfara State.
"Fortunately, the heroic pilot of the airplane, Flight Lieutenant Abayomi Dairo, effectively shot out from the airplane.
