How domestic workers carted away celebrity’s N243m jewelry
Two workers who stole a Cuban Diamond neck chain, a Frank Muller and Rolex wrist watches worth N243 million and connived belonging to their company have been detained in Borno after almost two weeks of fleeing Lekki, Lagos.The identity of their company, whom sources confirmed is a favorite celebrity with vast investment in Lekki, law enforcement are keeping under wrap Lagos. Obinyan, source revealed had spent more than eight years living and working together with the celebrity in Lekki.His colleague, Ayuba began working at the star’s residence only two weeks ago after returning from Chibok, his home town. They earned N80,000 and N50.The suspects and the jewelry’s buyers were brought to Abuja and Borno State, by the Decoy Team of the agency in an unbranded automobile after an 8 day activities to Quick Response Squad headquarters.The suspects, who were captured on CCTV leaving the residence of the celebrity have confessed stealing the Diamond Chain a Frank Moller Wrist watch worth N140 million and a Rolex wrist watch worth N49 million.According to Obinyan, they sold the Cuban Diamond Chain in Eti — Osa, Lagos for N6 million while the Frank Moller watch was sold for N4 million in Abuja.”I have been working with him (celebrity) in Lekki for more than 8 years. I am used to moving those valuables around the house they were found by me in his car. I have never considered stealing them.He saw me with the chain laced with diamonds and when Samson came, me convinced that a fortune could be made by us . He wasn’t with us. Within two months of his stay, we planned to steal these items.
